The Best of Bordeaux dinner is usually one of the most popular events of the year, both because the quality of the wines our members bring to share and how the wines perfectly pair so well with the food provided by the Washington Duke Inn.  

Wines that are acceptable to bring to the dinner:

- Any classified growth qualifies for the dinner (preferably a wine with 15 years of age)

- Guests bring an aged Classified Growth Bordeaux (Left or Right Bank) from your cellar.

- Some of the Commandeurs will be providing Champagne, Bordeaux Blanc and Sauternes

Please NOTE:  1 bottle per person registered.

If you don’t have a cellar and need guidance on how to procure a bottle, please call Ken Place at 919-696-6110. He will help you secure a bottle.

foie gras: apricot, crostini

tarte flambée: bacon lardons, gruyère

BLANC

sea : butter poached scallop & shrimp, celeriac, apple, hazlenut

RIGHT BANK

muscovy duck : carrot, pomegranate, parsnip, brussels, sorghum

LEFT BANK

coulotte of beef: pommes dauphine, pumpkin, maitake, charred onion, gastrique

SAUTERNES

currant and fig clafoutis: almond ice cream

Dress: Men – Business suit with Medal

Dress: Ladies – Business attire with boutonnieres
