Menu, served family style:

Appetizers:  Cheese, bread & fruit platters;  various mini Quiches;  and Pate with crackers.

Entrees:  Beef tenderloin w/Bordelaise sauce;  Chicken w/white wine sauce;  assorted vegetables;  risotto.

Desserts:  Fruit tarts, chocolate mousse, eclairs.

Wines from our cellar to be served:

1. Welcome wine – Le Cordeliers Brut ‘Exclusive’, Cremant de Bordeaux (sparkling), a blanc de noirs made from Cabernet Franc.  
2. Bordeaux Blanc (either Doesy-Daene Blanc Sec or Larrivet Haut Brion Blanc both 2018) 
3. Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte 2006 
4. Chateau Branaire-Ducru 2006

The red wines are both left bank Bordeaux which are Cabernet Sauvignon dominant.  The Branaire-Ducru from St. Julien is a slightly lighter and more feminine wine with bright black and red fruit, some floral and herbal notes, but notably with less body than the Smith Haut Lafitte.  The Smith Haut Lafitte is a wine with a bit more ripe dark fruit and a smoky undertone. Since we are going to serve the meal family style, the exact parings don't matter.  Both of these wines will work well with any classic French red wine cuisine
